LDeX Group doubles capacity at Trafford Park data centre
North West-based colocation data centre provider LDeX Group has doubled capacity at its campus in Trafford Park.
The company is set to ramp up its offer after securing a 20,000 sq ft facility next door to its existing data centre to house network carriers and global Internet Exchange Points.
The facility will also offer network connectivity, carrier neutral colocation and streaming media satellite services to clients across the UK, Europe and US.
LDeX Group CEO Rob Garbutt commented: “Doubling capacity within a year is a great achievement and I’m proud to say we’ve hit this goal significantly quicker than we anticipated.
“I put it down to our fantastic team offering outstanding customer service to our customers in many different time zones with often complex problems that we are able to resolve.”
He continued: “We have gone from strength to strength since we established in 2011 and this expansion underlines the fact that there is real demand for colocation and data centre services in the region.
“I’m looking forward to providing great service to even more organisations in the North West and beyond.”
Rob founded LDeX Group with co-owner Patrick Doyle in London after the successful sale of their previous venture, Manchester-based UK Grid Group, in September 2011 to Telecity Group plc.
LDeX’s first Manchester data centre opened in July 2015.
Speaking further, Rob said: “We were confident we’d find success here – just like we did with UK Grid – and we’ve been working incredibly hard since we opened our first Manchester data centre just over a year ago.
“As a company that also operates in London, we are incredibly optimistic about the potential of the northern economies. We fully support the Northern Powerhouse initiative, but it’s time to stop the rhetoric and focus instead on action. We hope our investment here acts as a ringing endorsement for the region’s technology credentials.”
