Knutsford firm Crawford Healthcare posts record turnover

Crawford Healthcare, the Cheshire-based wound care and dermatology company, has posted record results for its 2015/16 financial year.

In the 12 months to March 31, the firm saw its group revenue leap year on year by 17% to £21.5m. In the UK alone, Crawford Healthcare’s earnings rose to £19.4m, an increase of 12% against the previous years’ figures, while US revenues grew by 82% to £2m.

The company has also reported an adjusted UK EBITDA of £5.2m, which is £1.1m more than in the 2014/15 year.

Crawford Healthcare CEO Richard Anderson said: “In terms of innovation, Crawford is a leading international healthcare business, and in 2015/16 we have significantly accelerated our growth.

“Our UK business continues to deliver strong year-on-year growth with sales up 12% at £19.4m.”

He continued: “Our strategic entry into advanced wound care via acquisition in 2011 is proving to be extremely successful for the group and has been a major catalyst for our growth – from a business at acquisition selling less than £2.5m, our wound care operation is currently the 4th largest in the UK.”

Crawford Healthcare’s performance in the UK has allowed it to unlock growth overseas, doubling sales in its US operations and achieving a “strong start” to the financial year for its younger German JV business.

In April, the company announced a new deal with the US government and another with Premier Inc, a US-based group purchasing organisation.

Richard added: “Crawford is well-positioned for future momentum across the business and we look forward to reporting on our success during the coming 12 months.”
