Morning Biz launches to address business at breakfast in Barnsley
Morning Biz, the free business networking event, has been launched in Barnsley.
Morning Biz is a monthly breakfast meeting where businesspeople from the area meet, make contacts and listen to a talk on business related topics.
Held at Bizspace’s Oaks Business Park, in Oaks Lane, the networking event will take place on the final Friday of each month at 9am.
Alice Blackband, business centre manager at Oaks Business Park, said: “Morning Biz is an informal but approachable way to network for our customers and key businesses in the local area.”
After a pilot session, the first regular Morning Biz event took place on Friday, July 29 and attracted 17 visitors. A talk was given on how to generate business ideas from Inspire 2 Aspire, a company which offers business coaching throughout Barnsley and South Yorkshire.
Zoe Wadsworth, Bizspace’s business centre and meeting room manager, added: “All topics of business were discussed at the session from branding, to 3D printing to Pokémon Go! We also had some very positive feedback from those who attended.
“The event is open to both customers at the centre and local businesses and will raise money for Barnsley Hospice. It’s a great opportunity for businesses to build their networking circle and the centre has free parking available so it’s very convenient too.”
The next event is at 9am on Friday, August 26 and will include a spotlight slot from Colin Saville on law and finance.
Steven Atkinson, from Atkinson Printing Associates Ltd, attended the July event and has already booked onto the next session in August. He said: “It’s a nice, relaxed networking event with an easy format to follow.”
Spencer Brady, from Main Light, commented: “It was a friendly and approachable event, which I will be attending again as I want to branch out my networking opportunity in the South Yorkshire area.”
Oaks Business Park has a range of offices, industrial units and workshops to rent as well as two ground floor meeting rooms, which are available to hire. The centre is just over a mile from Barnsley town centre and is within easy reach of junction 37 of the M1.
