Housebuilder to contribute £3.1 million to Methley projects

Local housebuilder, Barratt Homes Yorkshire West, will contribute over £3.1 million to support local projects and community improvements in Methley, Leeds, as its new development in the area prepares to launch later this year.

The contributions will be put towards facilities in Methley including, £1.1 million towards off-site flood alleviation works to safeguard the local community, £185,220 on sustainable drainage, £426,000 towards local public transport initiatives, £1,043,278 on primary and secondary education, £339,559 to enhance off-site green space provision and additional contributions towards future monitoring and maintenance.

As part of the development, Barratt Homes will build 25 new affordable homes onsite, which will be transferred to a registered social housing provider to provide affordable housing for those in need in the local community. These contributions highlight Barratt Homes’ commitment to investing in the local community. Work will begin on the development at Station Road later this year.
