Fringe benefits to bring staycation fun

Crowne Plaza Newcastle – Stephenson Quarter has teamed up with Virgin Trains to provide staycation fun this summer.

A sharp rise in the cost of travelling abroad has left many holidaymakers looking closer to home for things to see and do in their summer break with an estimated 2.5 million Brits opting to ditch sunnier climes for a fun-filled staycation.

Crowne Plaza Newcastle – Stephenson Quarter and Virgin Trains have just the ticket for those holidaying at home, offering a two-night break, which takes in two beautiful cities and provides Fringe Festival fun with luxury accommodation.

Available weekdays Monday to Thursday from August 9 -25, the package includes two nights at the luxurious Crowne Plaza hotel in Newcastle with breakfast on both days and complimentary parking.

The stunning Quayside and bustling city centre are just minutes away and visitors will have full access to the Mineral House to take a dip in the pool or indulge in a relaxing beauty treatment at the spa.

After all that exploring or pampering, guests can savour local cuisine in Hawthorns brasserie before engineering their own martini in The GIN Bar.

On day two, it’s time to board a Virgin service to Edinburgh where hours can be spent taking in the spectacle of the many street artists and soaking up the festival atmosphere before boarding the train back to Newcastle and the comfort of the hotel.
