Mental Health Leads at Goldcrest House

Goldcrest House promotes good health and psychological wellbeing with the ground-breaking appointment of a clinical and residential support worker, Danielle Ripley.

Danielle’s honours degree in sociology and psychology has been put to good use to support and maintain the welfare and mental health of service users and staff within the home.

Working with consultant educational psychologist Keith Howie, Danielle supports this work by collecting data from service users about their support needs and ability to live and function in a co-operative environment. The data supports the development of behaviour strategies and support plans to minimise the likelihood of high levels of clinical care.

Danielle Ripley, clinical and residential support worker at Goldcrest House says: “I’m incredibly proud to be in such a unique position that has the ability to not only champion best practice but promote good health and psychological wellbeing.”

Ralph Parish, registered manager at Goldcrest House says: “Danielle is a key post for us working proactively to deal with long-term effects of mental health and the reduction of drugs (prescription) in use to manage mental health conditions.

“Mental hygiene is very important but something small organisations find difficult to implement or find the budget for. We are now able to monitor and pick up on the issues that can become worse if not addressed amongst those in society that find it incredibly difficult to articulate how they feel
