BBC producer joins Cheshire PR agency No Brainer

Award-winning creative PR and communications agency No Brainer has recruited former BBC producer and broadcast journalist Steve Bland as its News and Content Manager.

Steve, 36, joins the Cheshire-based firm after spending almost six years at BBC Radio 5 Live. Before that, he worked for five years as a senior reporter at the press agency Solent News.

“Steve comes with a wealth of experience in journalism and strong sense for news and he will be a fantastic addition to our team,” said No Brainer director and co-founder Gary Jenkins. “His pedigree is up there with the very best and he’s a perfect fit for No Brainer.”

Fellow director and co-founder Lee Cullen added: “Steve has been right at the heart of some of the biggest news and sport stories of the last ten years, creating brilliant content and must-listen radio. His skillset adds a new dimension to the services we provide and we’re looking forward to continuing our growth with him on board.”

Steve said: “I’m delighted to be joining Gary and Lee and look forward to helping No Brainer continue to flourish and grow. I’m incredibly excited about the new role and looking forward to working with some fantastic clients.”

Founded by Gary Jenkins and Lee Cullen in 2015, Warrington-based No Brainer works with a range of nationally acclaimed brands, as well as a host of Cheshire and North West-based businesses.

No Brainer was recently crowned ‘New Business of the Year’ at the Warrington Business Awards and was shortlisted in the ‘New Agency of the Year’ category at the Public Relations Consultants Associations (PRCA) industry Dare Awards. Earlier this month the agency was also shortlisted in the ‘Outstanding Small PR Consultancy’ category at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) North West PRide Awards.
