Simply Better Events smash target for Sue Ryder
Simply Better Events celebrated its 15th anniversary by taking a pop up café bar around Yorkshire to visit clients to thank them for their support. The converted Citroen H van travelled 231 miles in total, and the company’s 17 staff then pledged to cover the same distance on foot for local hospice, Sue Ryder Manorlands.
The team smashed their target by cycling, running and walking 326 miles between them, along the Leeds Liverpool canal in temperatures of over 30 degrees, on July 19th. They also exceeded their fundraising total of £1,000, raising £1098.45 for Manorlands.
Rob Woodhead, MD, Simply Better Events, said:
“The company would not be where it is today without our clients or staff, so we wanted to involve them all in our anniversary celebrations. Our clients have given us really positive feedback about the experience. Our whole team thoroughly enjoyed the charity day too. Despite it being the hottest day of the year so far, everyone pulled together to cover the distance they’d pledged, and more!”
Andrew Wood, Senior Fundraiser, Manorlands, said:
“We’re delighted that the team at Simply Better Events chose to support us with their anniversary celebrations. They’ve made a real impact with their road trip and challenge and raised a fantastic amount for our care, which we really do appreciate. The whole team has really enjoyed themselves too which is the icing on the cake.”
