Manchester City announce new fan engagement
Wix.com, the Israel-headquartered web development platform, is marking the start of the 2016/17 football season with the launch of a new campaign to showcase the true fans of Manchester City Football Club.
Wix.com, City’s official website design and hosting partner, is undertaking its first fan engagement activity of the season by revealing its new digital platform, This City is Ours.
The website will showcase photographs of MCFC fans as they relate their own personal stories and experiences of supporting the club, with the first seven all coming from different parts of city.
As part of This City is Ours, Manchester City and Wix.com will offer additional fan profiles, competitions and club-related content.
The CEO of Wix.com, Omer Shai, said: “Passionate about the game, these true fans are upholding the values of the game and act as global role models for others.
“As our two brands share values and vision we wanted to showcase these people on a global stage using our technology, a strong, passionate and honorable reflection of Manchester City Football Club and the English game.”
Manchester City’s chief operating officer, Omar Berrada, commented: “We are incredibly proud of the fans we have at Manchester City.
“Their passion and support is invaluable to everyone at the Club and Wix’s ‘This City is Ours’ is a unique opportunity to highlight their stories.”
He added: “Like Wix, we strive to be innovative and creative in every project we undertake and we believe this new website not only does that, but also offers a new platform on which we can bring our fans closer together.”
