Arrow’s Chinese investment pays off with new contracts

Investment in a new Chinese operation is already paying dividends for a UK manufacturer of cleaning and maintenance products.

Arrow Solutions has marked the first three months of trading in Shanghai with news that it has secured a string of new contracts to supply Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and Beijing Metro.

The company is tapping into the Far East’s desire to become more environmentally conscious and has seen huge demand for a number of its industry-leading products, including grease and oil remover Lotoxane®.

“We had been seeing a lot of interest from China so took the decision to establish a real foothold in that territory,” explained Jonathan Lane, Sales Director at Arrow Solutions.

“Significant investment has been channeled into creating Arrow Trading Shanghai and this has involved an office in the city, extensive warehousing space and recruitment of a team to provide sales and technical support to our growing client base.”

He continued: “Industry in the Far East is changing and it is now seriously looking at the products it uses and the impact they have on their staff and the environment. This represents a major opportunity for us and we believe we can be first to market with solutions that offer customers the answers they are demanding.”

Arrow Solutions (Shanghai) was officially launched at a recent event hosted by UK Trade and Investment and the China-Britain Business Council.

Attracting delegates from business, government and industry, the function was used to outline the company’s plans in China and how it is looking to work with industry to educate them on the benefits of adopting more environmentally friendly policies.

Delegates also heard how the firm is targeting £1m sales in its first year, followed by strong growth year-on-year between now and 2019.

Boyang Zhou, Regional Manager Asia and Pacific, went on to add: “Aerospace and rail are two major areas of opportunity for us, not to mention China’s rapidly growing nuclear sector.

“Investment in R&D means we can deliver the very best in industrial cleaning and maintenance solutions, with the majority of our range carrying all the necessary approvals and minimising impact on the environment.”

He concluded: “Lotoxane® has been our most popular product so far, but we are also now experiencing serious interest from train operating companies in using Ecowash Autoshine to maintain a high standard of presentation for their rolling stock.

“Demand for Aquaklenz LF is also growing from a wide range of manufacturers looking to improve their component cleaning processes.”

Arrow Solutions, which is part of the £25m strong Reabrook Ltd, is looking to grow market share in the UK and in additional territories including Norway, Russia and the Middle East.
