JAM appoints new Head of Engineering and Manufacturing
Engineering, manufacturing and professional services recruitment specialist, JAM, has recently appointed a new Head of Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing to lead its team of expert consultants.
Andrew Crook joined JAM as a graduate in 2010, and over the last six years has been working to recruit high-end technical specialists into engineering and manufacturing organisations. Throughout his time at JAM, Andrew has built a large and diverse team of experts that operate across multiple geographical areas across the UK, as well as internationally. Andrew took up his new position in May 2016 to ensure that the team continues to thrive in what can sometimes be a challenging market.
Andrew commented: “The engineering and manufacturing industries are in a really exciting position at the moment, particularly with new technological advancements such as 3D printing, additive manufacturing, process automation and robotics, to name a few. The UK has long been a pioneer of new, cutting-edge technology and a world leader in the innovation of existing applications. However, with the shortage of engineering and manufacturing talent at mid-level, the UK’s leading technology companies are feeling the strain when it comes to the realisation of these concepts, and the ultimate mass production to meet market demands. It is becoming harder to find bright minded engineering innovators or manufacturing professionals who are genuinely passionate about continuous improvement.
“Looking ahead to the next five years, we can expect these technology developments to continue across several industries with immerging markets having an increasing demand for these products - this demand for operational excellence will become paramount to keep up with project milestones and production output targets. To ensure our key customers keep pace with these challenges, we have implemented several talent management strategies. These bespoke resource solutions allow our customers to service their projects successfully and satisfy their strategic milestones regardless of how niche a skillset may be.”
Gareth Jones, Managing Director at JAM Recruitment, said: “With Andrew joining JAM straight after university, he’s a perfect example of how we like to operate as an agile and specialist recruitment agency. We’re keen to work with our clients in a way that makes us an extension of their own company, and having long-serving team members is essential to this relationship building. Not only this, but it’s been great to see Andrew cement his career with JAM and lead our advanced engineering and manufacturing team.”
Prior to joining JAM, Andrew studied Business Studies and Economics at the University of Liverpool.
