Redsun completes work on 90,000 sq ft Birkenhead scheme
Property developer Redsun has completed the final phase of Turbine Business Park on the Wirral.
The company acquired the five-acre site, located adjacent to Cammell Laird shipyard in Birkenhead, in 2015 and has since delivered 90,000 sq ft of commercial floorspace across six units of between 8,000 sq ft and 16,000 sq ft.
The business park is already fully occupied, having attracted a mix of local and national businesses from the trade, manufacturing and maritime sectors.
Occupiers include merchants Travis Perkins and Smith Brothers Store, marine product supplier Star International, manufacturer BMB Cabs and signmaker Brimark Signs.
The director of Redsun Developments, Craig Booton, said: “This was one of the more challenging sites we’ve developed, having been derelict for many years, but we knew it was a great location to bring forward our product.
“We are very pleased with the end result and it’s great to see the business park already full.”
He added: “This development will provide a further boost to the local economy and we will be pressing on with similar developments already in planning stages.”
The work on Turbine Business Park was funded with a mix of development finance from Lloyds Banking Group and grant funding from the Regional Growth Fund, with support from Wirral Council.
Real estate advisory firms B8RE and Legat Owen were instructed agents for the scheme.
