Financial planners plan a 'PB' for charity
A popular fundraising challenge has been confirmed thanks to the Newcastle office of national financial planning and investment firm, Gale & Phillipson.
Gale & Phillipson has signed up to sponsor North East charity Calvert Trust’s ‘Kielder Quest’, a corporate fundraising initiative which has raised more than £30,000 to support services for disabled people, their families and carers.
The manager of the Newcastle office of Gale & Phillipson Paul Bain said “We are always keen to support local charities.
“As a business we have firm roots in the North East, and we try hard to support local charities and the services they provide and positive difference they make to such a lot of adults, children, their families and carers. We have been aware of the Calvert Trust and the fantastic work it does for a while now so we’re delighted to be able to sponsor the challenge.
“Kielder Quest is a great event which allows teams from businesses across the North East to compete, have fun and raise valuable funds for the Calvert Trust and we’re proud to be supporting them.
“And we’re not just the sponsors. We’re taking part too - which is an added bonus and our team is training hard to be in with a chance of taking home the trophy. Winning and sponsoring would be a great result for us.”
The challenge, which involves physical and mental water and land based challenges including high ropes, archery and climbing, is specifically for businesses from across the region and sees one team win the coveted ‘Kielder Quest Trophy’.
Calvert Trust Kielder’s sales manager and organiser of the event, Hazel Ditchburn, has welcomed Gale & Phillipson’s support and is asking other businesses to sign up to the challenge as soon as they can.
She said: “We’re thrilled to have Gale & Phillipson on board. The support of such a successful business is great news for us and the many people we help.
“Gale & Phillipson have pledged their support, and said they’re in it to win it, so we’re asking other businesses to follow suit and take up the challenge. Get in touch now to sign up and start training!
“Kielder Quest is just one of our many fundraising activities though - if your business wants a more relaxing chance to support us there’s The Calvert Ball in October - strictly no waterproofs required and all help gratefully appreciated.”
Kielder Quest takes place on 3rd and 4th November 2016 at Calvert Trust Kielder. For further information on Kielder Quest or The Calvert Ball visit www.calvert-trust.org.uk/kielder or call Hazel Ditchburn on 01434 250232.
