Law Firm Fieldfisher backs Manchester Pride
Staff from law firm Fieldfisher will march in this weekend’s Manchester Pride parade.
The parade is part of the wider ‘Big Weekend’ celebrations which take place in Manchester’s world-famous gay village each year over August Bank Holiday weekend.
Manchester Pride is a registered charity that campaigns for equality and challenges discrimination.
The Big Weekend is Manchester Pride’s flagship event which last year raised £146,000 for over 35 LGBT causes across Greater Manchester.
Staff from Fieldfisher’s Manchester and London offices will take part in the parade along with thousands of other people.
Michael Chissick, Fieldfisher’s Managing Partner, said that Fieldfisher recently became the third law firm to receive the UK National Equality Standard (NES), the accreditation for equality, diversity and inclusion.
He added: “The team at Fieldfisher pride ourselves on promoting inclusion and diversity throughout our offices around the world.
“I’ve marched at Pride in London for many years and it’s great to see staff from the Manchester office marching and representing Fieldfisher at The Big Weekend.
“Fieldfisher is committed to creating an inclusive workplace and view difference as a strength which helps to attract, keep and progress the best people. It’s vital that staff understand and reflect different backgrounds, cultures, genders and sexual orientation.”
Fieldfisher employs 90 people in Manchester, is headquartered in London and has offices across the world.
The firm’s Manchester branch specialises in regulatory, real estate, employment, litigation and technology law and delivers cutting-edge advice to clients throughout Europe, Japan and America.
