Show re-commissioned by promotion company to stars
TALENTED Newcastle-born singer Anna Reay has attracted a promotions company responsible for bringing acts including Roy Chubby Brown, Foster and Alan and The Commitments to venues across the region.
Durham-based entertainment company Steven Lloyd Promotions has commissioned Anna’s One Enchanted Evening show, which was previously a sell-out Valentine’s Day performance at Sage Gateshead, at Spennymoor Leisure Centre on September 2.
The 500-seater venue has attracted acts such as The Drifters featuring Ray Lewis, and Roy Chubby Brown amongst others.
Steven Lloyd said: “I am determined to bring the best entertainment to all parts of the region and not just to the popular venues in the main cities. We have so many wonderful venues with easier access for many that it seems a shame not to utilise them.
“Following her sell out show in February, demand was building for another date so I’m delighted to be able to add Anna Reay into the mix – she is such an amazing talent and is captivating to her audience. It was a great show at Sage Gateshead and I am excited to be able to bring it to Spennymoor.
“I also want a good mix of entertainment so that there is something for everyone. Roy Chubby Brown sold out for July and we have more brilliant acts coming up later in the year.”
Anna and her band will be performing songs from the most popular West End shows as well as an eclectic mix of love songs from artists such as Sam Smith, Michael Buble, Etta James, Cilla Black, Maria Callas, and Ed Sheeran and will be joined on stage by special guest, award-winning crooner Chris Dakers.
Classically trained, Anna says One Enchanted Evening is heavily influenced by her time in Italy. She said: “The culture of Italy and the world-famous singers who originated from there such as one of my all-time favourites, Andrea Bocelli, inspired me to incorporate some of that passion into the show as well as including a bit of the West End and modern songs.
“The Band and I are delighted to be doing the show again and are looking forward to performing at Spennymoor”
Since her early debut performances in various intimate venues across the North East, the 34-year old singer has embarked on extensive tours of the UK, Europe and the USA as well as luxury cruise liners, and has sang arias in front of thousands at football matches.
Anna has also been featured on numerous international TV and radio shows and was shortlisted for the Women in Business Best Cultural and Creative Business and Social Entrepreneur in 2008.
Tickets are £15.00 and are available from the Box Office on 03000 261161 or from www.eventbrite.co.uk. Performance is on Friday September 2, 2016 at 7.30pm
