Darlington photography company snaps up new employees
A North East wedding and studio photographers has expanded its team, recruiting two new employees after a record first six months of the year.
Darlington-based Camera A Wedding Photography & Studio, has appointed Ashleigh Bell as a photographer and photographic editor alongside apprentice, Tamsin Wood.
The recent appointments come as a result of Camera A experiencing a significant increase in demand for its wedding services.
Director of Camera A Wedding Photography Jane Simmons, is thrilled about the success the firm has seen over the last year and is looking forward to seeing how her new employees will help develop the business further.
The ambitious director said: “I’m really pleased with how well the business is doing and due to the amazing growth we’ve experienced over the last six months, we’ve been able to expand the team, which is fantastic.
“We’ve employed Ashleigh and Tamsin because they are as enthusiastic about photography as I am; I know they will help us to keep growing.”
The new employees bring the all-female team up to six, who together have over 70 years’ experience in photography, with Jane’s mum, Ann Simmons, having established the business 34 years ago.
Ashleigh Bell, who completed her Fashion and Photography degree at Southampton Solent University, is excited to be a part of the team and hopes her fashion background will add to Camera A’s services.
“I love photography and I really want to incorporate modern concepts I learned at University and adapt them within studio photography,” said the passionate photographer.
“Camera A is one of the best wedding photographers in the area and I knew I had found the right job as soon as I met the team, as they are clearly passionate about what they do.”
Tamsin Wood, who studied an Art Photography course at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, is eager to get involved with as many projects as she can.
The talented, young apprentice said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to combine real work and learning into my apprenticeship and I’m really looking forward to working with the photographers and gaining as much experience as I can.”
Camera A is on track for a record year and Jane is planning to further develop the business by building relationships with local hotels and enhancing the team’s skills by enrolling them on courses.
She added: “Camera A’s success is due to our effective, forward thinking team and our excellent customer service.
“We understand the time it takes to plan and organise a wedding and our aim is to capture all of the details, emotions and memories so you have beautiful photography, which will be treasured forever.
“We feel as an all female team, we can truly identify with the brides’ needs and feelings.”
