Health Club celebrates 10th anniversary
A health club in North Somerset has celebrated its 10th Anniversary with staff, club members and customers.
The Club & Spa at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House was founded in 1996 by local entrepreneur Nick Taplin and has gone on to become one of the UK’s leading health clubs and spas with in excess of 4000 members.
In the past 10 years the award winning venue in Congresbury has become renowned for its innovative schemes, investment in cutting edge equipment and stylish facilities. Representing an investment of more than £6 million, The Club & Spa, has recently added a new Marco Pierre White restaurant brand, Bardolino, to its offering; the first in the UK to open.
Group general manager, Jason Eaton, said: “We’ve had an amazing 10 years since launching The Club and Spa and it has been fantastic to celebrate our achievements with staff and of course our members, many of whom have been with us from the very beginning.
“What started off as one of Nick Taplin’s ambitious ideas has become one of the region’s most successful business stories and has really made its mark within the fitness industry.
“From the moment Colin Jackson officially opened the club we knew we were on to something special and it’s been great to see both the club and spa develop and become renowned for offering top quality services.
“Everyone who works here is immensely proud of what we’ve achieved and we always joke that we’ve got orange blood because of the orange branding everywhere!
“We’ve invested in the best technology including the latest Artis and Technogym equipment and we’re constantly looking for new ways to grow and offer our members more.”
The Club and Spa features a cutting edge gym, studio classes, a luxurious 20-metre pool, steam room, sauna and hot tub. The new £350,000 spa extension has added further to the venue’s appeal with a new relaxation room, outdoor hot tub and terrace.
Taking in views across the North Somerset countryside, the club can be found within the grounds of the Doubletree by Hilton, Cadbury House hotel.
