Ve Interactive snap up German video advertising firm in €5.13m deal
London-headquartered tech firm Ve Interactive has agreed a €5.13m (approx. £4.4m) deal to acquire video advertising company Optomaton.
The deal, which is comprised of cash and shares, expands the technology and digital advertising firm’s video offering and give Ve’s clients access to the German firm’s expertise in the video marketing sphere.
With offices in Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Copenhagen, Optomaton has thus far focused its efforts on the European market through its video Demand Side Platform dubbed ‘Volvelle’, a system which helps businesses purchase digital video advertising.
Ve and Optomaton have previously worked together on projects in Scandanavia, and the Frankfurt firm’s Director, Josh Mortenson, said that the opportunity to become closer partners was too good to turn up.
“By joining Ve we now have the opportunity to further unlock the power of their data by applying it to video campaigns across the globe, improving our own reach and maximising the return for our clients,” he said.
Founded in 2009 in London, Ve has now expanded worldwide with 34 offices around the globe, including a new Dublin office which opened last month.
Commenting on this latest acquisition, David J Brown, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Ve Interactive, said: “The acquisition of Optomaton puts us at the forefront of programmatic video technology and with over 40% of programmatic buys expected to be in video by 2018, we are very excited to welcome the Optomaton team and their proprietary “Volvelle” video technology into our business.”
