Ed’s Easy Diner to open new Liverpool Street Station outlet this month

Food and beverage operator SSP has announced that a new 1950s-style American diner is to open in one of the capital’s busiest train stations this month.

The new outlet of Ed’s Easy Diner is to open in Liverpool Street Station, over 25 years’ since the opening of the first restaurant in Soho, and what will be the chain’s first train station property.

Andrew Guy, who is Chief Executive Officer at Ed’s, said that the leisure chain is working with SSP to open ten more outlets of the diner in stations, airports and visitor attractions across the UK by 2020.

He said: “We are delighted to be embarking on the expansion of Ed’s and our first station opening, working with experienced partners SSP.

“Dwell time at train stations is certainly increasing and with a daily footfall of 180,000 people, we’re confident the Liverpool Street Diner will be a success.”

Global firm SSP, which focuses on food and beverage outlets in worldwide travel locations, currently operates 12 units at Liverpool Street Station, including M&S Simply Food and the Pasty Shop, and also set to open outlets of Leon and Mi Casa Burritos at the City of London station.

Commenting on the new Ed’s Easy Diner, Simon Smith, who is Chief Executive Officer at SSP UK, said: “Ed’s is a much-loved brand that has a truly unique personality and a stand-out style that captures the imagination.

“It will be the perfect complement to the wide choice of bars restaurants, cafes and shops that visitors to Liverpool Street will be able to enjoy.”
