Saks Apprenticeships pledge support to beat bullying
Saks Apprenticeships have teamed up with one of the UK’s largest anti bullying charities, Ditch the Label to help overcome bullying and discrimination among young people.
Ditch the Label work with young people across the country, offering emotional, psychological and physical support to those who have experienced bullying. The charity also works to change negative attitudes towards equality and stop discrimination.
Saks Apprenticeships will be encouraging its apprentices to take part in fundraising activities to raise money and awareness of DTL.
Tina Rook, Head of Education for Saks Apprenticeships said: “We are really excited about the partnership with Ditch the Label; we want young people to realise that bullying is not a rite of passage when growing up, and young people should not and do not have to suffer in silence.
“We have strict safeguarding and anti-bullying policies in place as part of our company ethos, after we heard about Ditch the Label and the fantastic work they do, we couldn’t wait to get involved.

“We will be offering some fantastic incentives to apprentices and salons that want to get involved, to encourage them to raise as much money as they can.”
DTL was founded in 2012 by Liam Hackett, and have since developed innovative and pioneering research into bullying both on and offline as well as providing vital support and creating original and thought-provoking campaigns.
Liam said: “We are really excited to collaborate with Saks Apprenticeships, working together to help support the huge number of young people that still experience bullying every year.
“A huge part of our work is to change the language surrounding bullying by removing disempowering labels such as ‘victim’ and ‘bully’ in order to encourage young people and society as a whole to think differently about the issue.
“Most importantly, we want to educate – we want to tell those who are being bullied that it is in no way their fault, and they should never see themselves as the problem. We also encourage those doing the bullying to speak out and seek support as we know that there is always a reason why young people bully others.”
In recent years, DTL have launched a number of online campaigns, their most recent campaign aims to promote body confidence.
