Flybe launches new Dusseldorf route from London City Airport
Airline FlyBe is launching a new daily route to Dusseldorf from London City Airport.
The route will launch this October and run for the duration of the 2016-17 winter schedule with up to three flights a day departing from the central London airport.
It will be the third service provided by FlyBe at the airport, adding to its current year-round routes to Amsterdam and Paris Charles De Gaulle.
The announcement comes after London City Airport announced that it was to embark on a £344m expansion programme at the airport as it looks to expand capacity and facilities on-site.
Amidst the high-profile battle between Gatwick and Heathrow over who gets the go ahead for expansion, London City has been quietly adding more routes and eyeing up a bigger slice of the South East’s air passenger capacity.
Flybe’s chief revenue officer, Vincent Hodder, commented: “Our new route between London City and Düsseldorf is the latest example of Flybe’s commitment to providing convenient connections for business and leisure travellers from regional markets, providing added opportunity for customers to travel to the broadest range of destinations from their local airport.”
