Tottenham Hotspur to announce record breaking stadium naming deal according to reports

Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to be on the brink of a record breaking naming rights deal for their new stadium that could pass £400m.

The club are seeking a big-name partner to sponsor their new stadium, which is currently under construction adjacent to their current White Hart Lane home and is due to be completed by the start of the 2018-19 season.

According to International Business Times, the North London club have already entered into negotiations with Qatar Investment Authority over a possible deal that would eclipse the £400m Manchester City agreed with Etihad Airways.

Most tellingly, it would also dwarf the current arrangement that bitter rivals Arsenal have in place with Emirates which is currently worth £150m over five seasons.

It comes as the club look for ways to claw back some of the £750m outlay on the new stadium through sponsorship opportunities and a recently signed deal which will see at least two NFL games per season played at the new ground.

The Northumberland Park development forms a key part of wider regeneration in the area, with a £450m leisure development also planned including 1,400 new homes and a new park.
