Appointment reflects ongoing investment in people

Leading West Midlands law firm Higgs & Sons has underlined its ongoing investment in technology and its people by promoting the firm’s former IT manager.

Adam Cutler, who has more than 15 years’ experience in legal IT having previously worked at George Green LLP, is the firm’s new Director of IT.

Prior to becoming IT Manager at Higgs, Adam oversaw the firm’s development team where, in conjunction with the firm’s Financial Director, he delivered an innovative suite of financial reports that resulted in Higgs & Sons being nominated for an award by the International Legal Technology Association.

“I was thrilled to be appointed as the firm’s Director of IT,” comments Adam who has been at Higgs & Sons since 2006. “Throughout my time here the firm has continually invested in its infrastructure and the Partners firmly believe, as do I, that our IT systems are not just enablers for efficiency but also essential to deliver excellence in client service.

“I am looking forward to leading the team as our technology is developed in response to the challenges and opportunities faced by a modern law firm.”

Adam’s appointment comes after the previous Director moved on to join a specialist IT consultancy following a highly successful six years in post.

“Higgs & Sons is wholly committed to investing in the future across all areas of the firm,” states Managing Partner, Paul Hunt.

“We continually look for the best people in order to bring the right skills and experiences into our firm and on this occasion the best person for the role was already working within our team. Adam is a highly skilled professional with a wealth of experience in this specialised field. We are looking forward to him leading the development of Higgs & Sons’ technology and to build on the investments we have made in this area over many years.

“Innovation is the key to success in any sector and in order to meet the challenges of an increasingly sophisticated market place, law firms need to continually invest in their technology.

“As our new IT Director, Adam has the skills and experience to be able to lead our development and ensure Higgs & Sons remains at the cutting edge of modern business practice.”

Employing over 240 staff, Higgs & Sons has a heritage stretching back to 1875. In 2010 the firm moved into its state of the art headquarters at Brierley Hill’s Waterfront Business Park.
