Vital Energi Design Department Grows By 260%
Following strong, continued growth Vital Energi are delighted to announce that their Design Department has grown by 260% over the last 6 years to incorporate 65 full time members of staff.
The department is currently working on some of the largest sustainable energy jobs in the UK, including the £25m Guardbridge Biomass Energy Project for the University of St Andrews, Battersea Power Station and Royal Albert Dock. The team has grown to include 6 in-house Design Teams in addition to specialist Electrical Design, CAD, and a Proposals team.
In addition to the Design Team’s resources and expertise, Vital Energi’s technical capabilities have been increasing. Their metering & data analysis capabilities provide their designers with access to an ever growing database of high-resolution, energy usage data, which makes their energy modelling more accurate than those based on general estimates. In addition to this their proprietary Heat Network Modelling software has contributed to them become one of the UK’s leading providers of District Heating.
Building Services & Design Director, Paul Kay explains, “In addition to increasing the number of design staff, we have also increased our design capabilities, adding expertise such as structural design, building information modelling and architectural design, which has allowed us to win more diverse and complex work.
“As a company, we’re also committed to, not just producing the best quality work we can, but also to raising the standards industry-wide and our growth has allowed us to work with organisations like DECC, BSRIA and, in particular, CIBSE on the Heat Network Code of Practice to improve standards and create a better, stronger industry.”
The department has undertaken a graduate intake each year for the last 6 years as well as apprentices, all of whom are enrolled onto our internal development programme, designed to help them achieve their full potential. The growth has also seen Vital Energi develop a dedicated Design Department for its London & the South Team.
