Bluebird Chelsea reopens after £2m refurbishment
The Bluebird Chelsea restaurant and bar has reopened after significant refurbishment work.
After an extensive £2m refurbishment project designed by Sagrada, the Chelsea eatery, which is owned by hospitality firm D&D London, has now re-opened its doors to the public.
Work on the restaurant has included increasing the number of available covers to 248, while a new curved marble-topped bar has been added along with custom-made furniture and fabrics from British textile designer Celia Birtwell.
Commenting on the reopening, Chief Executive and Chairman of D&D London, Des Gunewardena commented: “Bluebird has been and continues to be one of our most successful venues.
“To celebrate its 20th anniversary we thought it would be a good time to give Bluebird a new look and an exciting new food direction.
“This is a major investment for us and one which will reinforce Bluebird’s position as one of London’s most iconic restaurants, on one of its most famous streets, the King’s Road.”
Hannah Grievson, Commercial Property Manager at Sloane Stanley added: “We are delighted to unveil the beautifully refurbished Bluebird Chelsea restaurant and bar. The re-design pays homage to the heritage of the building and the King’s Road area.
“Bluebird is a firm favorite among locals, shoppers and food connoisseurs alike, and the newly refurbished iconic London landmark adds to the King’s Road status as a premier dining and retail destination in the capital.”
