CRL bolsters executive management team with COO appointment

STRUCTURAL defects insurance specialist CRL has further strengthened its executive management team with the appointment of a Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Oliver Sanders has joined the appointed representative to improve the company’s processes and procedures to boost efficiency and to make the business more effective for customers and employees.

Reporting to CRL’s CEO Steve Mansour, Oliver will head the company’s HR, Marketing, IT and Change, Procurement and Technical Services teams.

The 47-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the newly created role having spent 13 years working for AXA, three years of which were spent as COO of an AXA direct insurance company based in Brussels.

He joins CRL from Legal & General Insurance where he spent 18 months as Director of Strategy, Transformation and Systems.

Oliver, who lives in North London, said: “In joining CRL I’m fortunate enough to bring together my love for the built environment and my insurance experience into one place with such an energetic and aspiring company. I look forward to making a real difference.

“CRL is a very successful appointed representative and leader in its own field which has grown through the energy and charisma of its entrepreneurs. The company has grown so rapidly we’re now at the stage where we need to ensure we have solid foundations and robust procedures in place to be ready for its next phase of growth.

“I have been brought in to help build that stability and create the infrastructure to ensure the company grows in a sustainable way.”

With a heritage in the built environment, Oliver began his career as a Chartered Town Planner. He then built his insurance career delivering business transformations through portfolio, project and programme management.

He spent 13 years working for AXA with jobs in London, Paris and Brussels, where he had international clients. Oliver’s insurance experience spans off-shoring and process improvements, such as, re-engineering, new technology systems, automation and robotics, and customer service improvements.

The father-of-three and keen amateur triathlete added: “At CRL we have a strong customer-centric approach and we want to ensure that we are as easy to do business with as possible. It’s my mission, in this newly created role, to organise ambitious and customer centric programmes of improvement as CRL continues on its growth trajectory.”

Commenting on Oliver’s appointment, CRL’s CEO Steve Mansour said: “Oliver has exceptional leadership and business transformation skills and extensive experience of working at a senior level within the insurance sector.

“We are delighted to welcome him on board at a critical time for the business as we enter the next phase of our ambitious growth plans. He will be taking a forensic approach to improving CRL’s processes and procedures so that we can improve the level of service we provide to our customers and ensure we are running an efficient business.”
