Network of female entrepreneurs across Yorkshire come together

Female entrepreneurs across Yorkshire recently assembled to showcase the work they’ve been conducting throughout the region.

Sponsored by NatWest, Melanie Malcolm of Yorkshire Ladies Link organised an event that saw more than 500 people from across the business community meet to learn how banks and business organisations are supporting women in enterprise.

The event took place at Tankersley Manor in Barnsley.

The keynote speaker was NatWest’s head of enterprise Julie Baker who explained how NatWest is supporting women in business through several different programmes.

Julie is responsible for leading the ongoing delivery of improved ways to support enterprises within the NatWest SME customer base across the UK.

Lorna Blackett, business growth enabler at NatWest, supported the event and said: “We know the enormous value that female entrepreneurs can add to the economy, but we also know the different challenges women sometimes face.

“As a bank we have a variety of programmes which include our accredited Women in Business certificate partnership with Entrepreneurial Spark to support women in business at all stages of their development.

“As part of my role as Business Growth Enabler, I am supporting businesses throughout the local eco-system grow and develop by connecting with business networks.
