Cresta Court Hotel Partners Aldi Manchester Half Marathon
Organisers of the Aldi Manchester Half Marathon have confirmed Best Western Cresta Court Hotel as Official Hotel Partner for the inaugural race on Sunday 16th October 2016.
This new partnership is welcomed at the same time as a continued partnership is confirmed between the Best Western Cresta Court and the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon, sister race to the Aldi Manchester Half Marathon.
A contemporary and stylish hotel, the fully refurbished Best Western Cresta Court is an ideal choice for the new Aldi Manchester Half Marathon. Situated in Altrincham, South Manchester, the accommodation offers excellent free car parking facilities, free Wi Fi and is just a five-minute walk from the Altrincham Metrolink stop, which takes runners directly to Old Trafford where both races start and finish. Altrincham is also the half-way point of the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon.
With many athletes expected to choose the Best Western Cresta Court for their marathon weekend, the venue offers a unique chance to mix with other athletes and enjoy the social side of running. It is a perfect complement to the hotel’s tagline, ‘Wherever Life Takes You, Best Western Is There’.
Aldi Manchester Half Marathon runners can enjoy special accommodation rates at the Best Western Cresta Court and a 20% discount on treatments at the hotel’s Oasis Beauty Salon. Reservations can be made by calling 0161 927 7272 or emailing reservations@cresta-court.co.uk
The Aldi Manchester Half Marathon promises to be one of the UK’s flattest and fastest half marathons, with only 41m elevation gain and a 2 mile+ finish straight – making it ideal for first time marathon runners and a real opportunity for elite athletes to achieve a PB.
The race starts at White City roundabout and finishes at Emirates Old Trafford Lancashire County Cricket Club, the same venue as the popular ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon, and the organisers are promising plenty of entertainment and outstanding crowd support.
Race Director Simon Hill commented, “We are delighted to confirm Best Western Cresta Court as Official Hotel Partner for the Aldi Manchester Half Marathon and as an ongoing partner for the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon. The hotel is a popular venue for athletes with its fantastic location in Altrincham, and as hosts they are keen to get involved in both races and join in the spirit of race weekend. There will even be a team from Cresta Court entering the half marathon! We are looking forward to working with Cresta Court to ensure that visiting athletes receive the best possible welcome and preparation for race day.”
Paul Hindley, General Manager at the Best Western Cresta Court said: “As great supporters of the Aldi Manchester Half Marathon and the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon, we are excited to welcome athletes from all over the country on the respective race weekends. Our goal is to ensure that guests enjoy the best possible experience in advance of their race, from our fully refurbished bedrooms to the carefully devised menus and ease of access to the start line on the morning of the race. It makes for a wonderful atmosphere and a memorable all-round experience for visiting runners.” The Aldi Manchester Half Marathon will take runners on wide, closed roads through Old Trafford, Stretford, Brooklands and Sale. Entry costs £37, with £1 per runner going into the Trafford Athlete Fund which was set up to benefit gifted and talented young athletes in the Trafford borough.
A total of 12,000 places are available for the Aldi Manchester Half Marathon 2016 and runners can sign up at www.manchesterhalfmarathon.com which includes links to the official charities.
The 41st edition of the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon takes place on 2nd April 2017. Entries are open at www.greatermanchestermarathon.com and current entry fees are £45.
