Relish launches UK's first same day broadband service in London
Londoners can now benefit from the UK’s first same day broadband service after internet provider Relish launched its same day unlimited service this week.
Aimed at significantly cutting down on the amount of time customers have to wait to get their connection switched on, the firm claims it can get its 4G broadband hub up and running on the same day that a customer orders provided they ring up before 12pm and pay a £20 delivery fee.
The launch of the service, which takes its cues from same day, on-demand delivery services such as Amazon Prime, comes after a YouGov poll in 2014 found that 57% of Londoners had to wait between three days and one month for a home broadband connection.
Bridget Lorimer, Head of Brand and Consumer Marketing at Relish, commented: “Consumers have come to expect instant convenience, be it from taxis, same day Amazon deliveries, restaurant food at home, and even help around the house.
“We see no reason why broadband shouldn’t be the same. We were the first to bring Londoners a broadband service that didn’t require them to pay for landlines they don’t want or need, and we are proud to be the first to bring same day broadband to the market.”
The firm, which is an offshoot of UK Broadband Ltd, already offers a next day delivery service for customers.
