Dairy set to double its workforce

A milk delivery firm is seeking to double the number of staff at its Mansfield depot to help continue its significant growth.

McQueens Dairies, which has signed up 5,000 customers since opening its Nottinghamshire base less than 12 months ago, is hoping to fill 20 roles in the coming weeks.

The company is recruiting for posts including depot managers, delivery managers, delivery drivers, and sales representatives as part of its plans to win 10,000 customers by its second anniversary in October 2017.

Director Ruairidh McQueen, who is based at the depot, said: “We’ve exceeded expectations in our first 12 months in Nottinghamshire and a key reason for that is the team we have in place.

“As part of our growth strategy we are strengthening a number of departments and hope to have the roles filled by the end of October.

“It’s been a whirlwind 12 months for us and I’m confident we will continue to expand, with a further recruitment drive likely to take place next year.

“One of our main goals when opening this base was to create dozens of jobs for local people and we’re pleased to be accomplishing that.”

McQueens Dairies, a third-generation family-owned firm, was founded in 1995 and has its headquarters in Glasgow. The Mansfield depot on the Crown Farm Industrial Estate is the third English base opened by the firm, following on from Warrington and Huddersfield.

McQueens Dairies relief driver, Jack Lowery, who joined the company in April, said: “McQueens Dairies is a brilliant company to work for.

It’s seeking to open a further two depots in England in the next three years as part of ambitious expansion plans.
