Music-tech startups selected for illustrious Abbey Road Studios accelerator

Three tech startups have been selected as the newest members of a music-tech accelerator based at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.

Scored, Qrates and The Audio Hunt will form the second cohort for the Abbey Road Red programme, which launched last October, and will benefit from support, advice and development.

The Audio Hunt is a online marketplace for musicians and producers which gives users access to hard-to-find or high-quality music gear, allowing musicians to send their tracks to engineers for mastering and processing or start their own collaborations.

Qrates is a vinyl crowdfunding platform that helps artists collect pre-orders from fans to fund the expense of pressing a run of vinyl, and also includes a full suite of solutions for sales, marketing, billing and mastering.

Scored is a music library and film scoring application which can be dynamically adjusted in real-time, giving filmmakers the chance to create and adapt their soundtracks cost-effectively.

Billing itself as the only music-based startup accelerator in Europe, the programme gives tech firms with musical innovations access to a mentoring team that includes Abbey Road and Universal Music Group executives, as well as use of the famous studio as a testing ground for their products.

The three startups follow in the footsteps of 3D audio headphone company OSSIC, audio mastering firm CloudBounce and guitar training app Uberchord, who made up the first round of recruits at the accelerator.
