Harrowells Conveys Success with Top Award
Harrowells Solicitors has become Yorkshire and North East Regional Conveyancing Firm of The Year in major national industry awards.
The York-based North and East Yorkshire firm scooped the award from a shortlist of three in this year’s Law Firm Services National Conveyancing Awards.
Members of Harrowells residential conveyancing team were presented with a specially-engraved trophy at a ceremony at the NEC, near Birmingham, on September 14. The awards attracted more than 100 entries from national and regional law firms throughout England and Wales.
A mystery shopper exercise to evaluate how entrants provided quotations, an assessment of compliance and working practices and, for the first time, a section on cyber security, were all included in the judging process.
The judge’s citation for Harrowells Solicitors said: “Harrowells performance demonstrates their all Âround professionalism and ability to appeal to their clientele.”
This year was only the second time that Harrowells, which has a 14-strong residential conveyancing team working nationally in its office network, has entered the awards.
Harrowells was among the first law firms in Yorkshire and the North East to warn about cyber security and how criminal gangs are operating in the housing chain, setting up bogus email addresses and spurious law firms, in attempts to syphon off money on the completion of house sales.
Harrowells head of residential conveyancing, Kevin Millar, based at the firm’s Haxby Office, says: “We recognise that house buying and selling is usually the biggest and most stressful transaction in many people’s lives and support those from first home buyers to older people who are downsizing and are thrilled that our commitment and professionalism is recognised with this award.”
Harrowells Solicitors offers a wide range of legal services to residential, commercial, farming and private clients. The firm has three offices in York and others in Pocklington, Easingwold and Thirsk.
