Power Solutions to relocate operations to Chester’s One City Place
Energy firm Power Solutions (UK) Ltd has secured office space at One City Place in Chester.
The company will move its 54-strong team from Oakbase House on Trafford Street in Chester to a 5,950 sq ft office within the six-storey development.
Signed on a 10-year lease, the deal means that over half of the space at One City Place is now either let or in lawyers’ hands.
Power Solutions will start fitting out the fourth-floor space this month, with a view to moving in at the end of November.
Jeremy Taylor, the owner of Power Solutions (UK) Ltd, said: “When we decided to relocate, we considered a number of options but felt that One City Place was the only location for us.
“There is a real buzz in the city about the first office development in the City Place scheme, especially as it is starting to fill up, and we wanted to be a part of it.”
He added: “The state-of-the-art design and excellent transport links are also key for our organisation so we knew we needed to seize the opportunity before the One City Place was fully let.”
One City Place is an office-led development from Salford-headquartered firm Muse Developments and forms part of the wider £100m Central Business Quarter transformation.
Phil Mayall, Muse’s development director, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Power Solutions (UK) Ltd to One City Place.
“With 50% of the space now let or in lawyers’ hands, there remains strong interest in the remaining floorplates.”
He continued: “With more lettings in the pipeline in the coming weeks, City Place is fast becoming the number one business destination in the city.”
City Place is part-funded by a £4.8m North West Evergreen Fund development loan and a £1.4m European Regional Development Fund grant.
Real estate firms CBRE and Bilfinger GVA, joint agents on the scheme, acted for Muse on the deal.
