SAS Daniels backs North West farming with new agricultural law practice

North West law firm SAS Daniels is set to launch a new agricultural practice to support the region’s farming and agri-business community.

Operated by staff from across SAS Daniels’ four regional offices, the practice will act on matters ranging from business succession, constitutional issues and planning to the buying and selling of farms and settling disputes between family members.

SAS Daniels’ agricultural experience spans family law, commercial and business issues, renewable energy dispute resolution, residential and commercial property, wills, estate administration and probate.

The new team will be led by associate James Goddard, who works at SAS Daniels’ office in Chester.

He said: “Certain parts of our region, such as Cheshire, North Wales and Staffordshire have a large agricultural community with its own specific business challenges, requiring specialist legal expertise.

“Our team of legal experts is equipped to offer practical and cost-effective advice to this community on a variety of issues such as agricultural tenancies, advice on diversification, agri-business activities and even complex farming divorce cases.”

SAS Daniels is a member of the Agricultural Law Association (ALA). Earlier this year, James played a lead role in establishing the ALA’s Cheshire branch.

The firm, which is also a member of the Country Land and Business Association, has offices in Chester, Stockport, Congleton and Macclesfield.
