Leeds City College hosts a Google event

Leeds City College is embracing the digital age and hosting a ‘Google and the Cloud’ event on Thursday 3 November at its Printworks and Park Lane campuses.

Members of School Management, Network Managers, and those interested in new developments within the learning environment can attend one of two events taking place at 1pm and 4.30pm respectively.

The interactive events will explore the latest technologies and how they are transforming today’s learning environment. There will also be small group sessions allowing delegates to explore the newly launched Google Expeditions.

Local schools and businesses will have the opportunity to find out how technology is shaping the education system and enhancing the learning experience of students using Google’s extensive range of free apps.

Amongst the speakers, will be Google’s Education Regional Manager, James Leonard, and members of Leeds City College’s technology enhanced learning and senior management team. C-Learning, a Google Premier partner and specialist in Cloud Technologies in Education, will also be present to advise on how best to set up a Google for Education Trial and the staged implementation of Google for Education within schools.

Attendees will get a unique insight into Google’s vision for bringing affordable technology to every student, the money saving opportunities this new technology presents and advice on the best ways to implement a Google for Education strategy.

Leigh Craig will be talking about the latest innovations, C-Learning will showcase the practical ways to apply robust Cloud technologies, whilst Leeds City College’s representatives will be explaining the practicalities of implementing a Google for Education strategy along with the results gained so far from completing the Google journey.
