New partner at Teesside law firm
Endeavour Partnership has appointed a new partner to its commercial dispute resolution department.
Alex Smith, from Newcastle, qualified with the firm in 2008 and later became an associate with Endeavour Partnership’s commercial dispute resolution team.
His promotion to partner comes thanks to Alex’s extensive experience in handling real property and cross-border disputes, acting for a broad range of clients including those in the construction sector, landlord and tenants, international businesses and as solicitor agent for lawyers across Europe.
Alex was admitted to the prestigious office of notary public in 2012 which allows him to authenticate and certify documents, facts and events to facilitate overseas transactions and litigation. A notary public is an internationally recognised public office and Alex is appointed by the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury to carry out this function in England and Wales.
Endeavour Partnership’s commercial dispute resolution team is one of the most experienced in the North East and works across the region. Its six-strong fee-earner team acts in all areas of litigation such as construction, commercial arbitrations, insolvency, intellectual property disputes and professional negligence claims to name just a few.
Endeavour Partnership announced at the start of the year that it intended to begin a period of recruitment with plans to create a number of new roles in 2016. Over the summer months, four new jobs were created thanks to a continued demand for Endeavour’s range of legal services. In the last 12 months alone, Endeavour Partnership has created 10 new roles taking staff numbers to 50.
The firm, with a reputation spanning over 16 years, provides high quality advice on a range of business law matters including mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, employment, commercial property and corporate recovery and insolvency from its headquarters at Teesdale in Stockton.
Speaking about becoming partner, Alex Smith said: “I am obviously delighted to have been offered the role of partner as I continue to progress with Endeavour Partnership’s great team. The firm’s commitment to creating new opportunities for staff is exceptional and I am looking forward to what my future holds going forward.”
Paul Bury, managing partner at Endeavour Partnership, said: “Alex has shown a real commitment to our firm, clients and the region as he continues to excel. He has a growing reputation for his thorough and practical advice with varied experience and knowledge of his field. Endeavour Partnership is always committed to staff development and it is a pleasure to see team members progress their careers with us as we continue to grow as a firm.”
