Chris Outram appointed new SteelPhalt Technical Manager
ROTHERHAM road surface specialists SteelPhalt have appointed a new Technical Manager.
Chris Outram, who is 33 and lives in Rawmarsh, South Yorkshire, will be supervising quality control for the company.
Chris joined the company in 2009, initially as a lab technician and has subsequently been both a senior technician and a lab supervisor.
“Over the past seven years Chris has proved himself to be an invaluable member of the team,” said SteeplPhalt Commercial Manager Dean Raynor.
“This new role is an important one for the company and one that we know will suit Chris perfectly.”
The SteelPhalt plant in Sheffield Road, Rotherham, converts steel slag into a surface course for road making.
It achieves high skid resistance - enhancing road safety for both drivers and pedestrians - and maintains it throughout the whole life of the road, also avoiding the use of quarried materials and the landfill of residual slag product.
The exceptional strength and durability of steel slag extends the life of the road and lengthens road maintenance intervals for resurfacing.
The company’s products include SteelStop, SteelSurf, SteelPave and SteelFlow.
