Housing association seeks board member

One of the UK’s oldest housing associations is seeking to add to its board as it approaches its 100th anniversary.

A voluntary board member is being sought by Railway Housing Association, which owns over 1,500 homes in the North East and Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will join the current board of eight members who are responsible for ensuring the Association meets its regulatory and governance obligations.

Railway Housing Association Chief Executive Anne Rowlands said: “We are looking to recruit a new board member with an interest in social housing and previous experience at a strategic board level.

“In 2019, we will be celebrating our 100th anniversary so this represents an exciting opportunity for someone to be involved in our work as we approach this significant landmark.”

“These are very challenging times for the social housing sector and our residents but we are in a strong position to continue providing high quality homes and services for those in need.”

Board meetings are held around six times a year, at Railway’s head office in Darlington, along with training sessions

The closing date for expressions of interest and CVs is Thursday 27th October, with a provisional date of Thursday 10th November for interviews.
