Fashion Week's a hit for Barnsley Shopping Centre

The Alhambra Shopping Centre in Barnsley recently transformed into a haven for fashion lovers, showcasing the latest trends from the centre’s top retailers and giving away free vouchers to spend in the centre.

TK Maxx, Primark, Roman and Domo all took part in the fashion shows to display this seasons newest styles, and all four have seen a significant increase in sales.

Primark had an impressive rise in sales with an increase of 3% year on year. Ladies wear also finished 4% up on budget for the week and the check blouses seen in the fashion show finished as the stores best seller. Roman was up by 55% on the year and by 24% compared to the previous week. TK Maxx also showed a 10% increase year on year and Domo’s footfall was up by 20%.

Over the four days, a total of 20 people won something to spend in the centre with 11 x £10 vouchers being handed out in the Alhambra during Fashion Week. A further 8 x £50 vouchers were given away on the centre’s Facebook page, reaching almost 55,000 people with 559 entries.

The paparazzi were also in the centre on the hunt for the fashion savvy, giving away £150 to one lucky winner. The Alhambra is still on the hunt for the 2 ladies who got spotted – visit their Facebook page to see if it’s you!

Steph Higham, Alhambra Centre Marketing Manager said: “Barnsley Fashion Week was a huge success this year with many of our retailers seeing an increase in sales due to our fashion shows.

“We gave away a total of £660 to our customers and have received lots of positive feedback from people telling us how much they enjoyed the week.”
