Trethowans looks to the future with new appointments

Trethowans has appointed three new trainee solicitors as it works to develop the next generation of solicitors in its 150th year.

Sam Salter-Galbraith will start his training with Trethowans’ commercial property team in Salisbury. Sam, who studied law at Southampton University, took four years out to work as a fine wine merchant after his degree and studied for his LPC (Legal Practice Course) in Guildford.

Charlotte Harwood will make her debut in the firm’s corporate team in Southampton. She has recently relocated to the New Forest from London, where she worked as a paralegal and has also spent time in Columbia teaching English.

Meanwhile, Sarah Huck, who is returning to Trethowans after taking a year out to complete her LPC at Bournemouth University, starts in Southampton’s commercial litigation team. A keen horse lover, she is also looking forward to working alongside Trethowans’ partner Sarah Wheadon, who undertakes prosecution work for the RSPCA.

The trio join Trethowans’ existing cohort of trainees, bringing the total number of trainee solicitors with the firm to seven.

Sam, Charlotte and Sarah will get the opportunity to work in various different divisions of the firm throughout their two-year training. The flexible scheme, which could see them working in everything from agriculture and rural property to personal injury, means they get to experience new areas of law and help to decide what they want to specialise in.
