StepChange expands offices at Fairfax House in Leeds city centre
StepChange, the debt charity, has doubled its office space at Great Bear Properties’ Fairfax House office building in Leeds city centre.
The organisation has signed a 5 year lease for an additional 6,200 sq ft on the 7th floor. CBRE acted for Great Bear Properties.
CBRE secured StepChange’s initial 6,185 sq ft 6th floor tenancy at the landmark 7 storey Fairfax House office building in September last year, following an extensive refurbishment programme to both the internal and external envelopes which was managed by CBRE’s Leeds Building Consultancy team.
Fairfax House is situated at the junction of Wade Lane and Merrion Street within the Arena Quarter of Leeds City Centre.
The building provides an open plan office space with floor plates of circa 6,200 sq ft which can be sub-divided to accommodate a variety of requirement sizes from 800 sq ft.
Other occupiers within the building include Drydensfairfax, RNIB, ACI Worldwide and NCAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) and following StepChange’s expansion, the building has only one suite of 2,150 sq ft now available to lease.
Alex Hailey, associate sirector of office agency at CBRE’s Leeds office, said: “The investment into Fairfax House has resulted in near full occupation of this landmark building which is located in the northern quarter of Leeds, an area which has undergone a sustained period of regeneration.
“The expansion of StepChange demonstrates their commitment to the building and is an excellent result for Great Bear Properties, leaving just one small suite available for occupancy.”
JLL acted as joint agents on Fairfax House.
