Together lends a helping hand at Seashell Trust
A group of colleagues at Cheadle-based finance provider Together took time out of work to spend a day volunteering at Seashell Trust recently, as part of its ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.
Seashell Trust, based in Cheadle Hulme, is a national charity which provides education and care at its school and college, to children and young people who have complex disabilities.
Together’s commercial team spent the day tending the charity’s garden, helping to maintain its 30 acres of grounds to create an outdoor space for the pupils to enjoy.
Wendy Bray, corporate and individual giving fundraiser, commented: “The Seashell Trust helps children and adults with severe learning difficulties, so a tranquil outdoor space is really important and it was great to have the team from Together to help us create that. We really appreciate the time and effort they put in and know the new garden will be treasured by the pupils that use it.”
Daniel Owen-Parr, national development director at Together, who was one of the volunteers said: “Our sales team are based in different regions across the UK so this was an opportunity for us to come together in support of a great cause. It was hard work but the garden looks fantastic and we hope it will be an asset to the Seashell Trust in the great work that they do.”
Together places significant emphasis on making a positive contribution and recently launched a new initiative called Let’s Make is Count, which spans charity, community and the environment, with its 460-plus colleagues contributing to various local causes.
