Success is on the menu for new Stanley House manager Simon
Experienced hospitality professional Simon Tauber has been appointed as restaurant and bar manager of Mr Fred’s Bar & Lounge at Stanley House Hotel and Spa, Mellor.
Simon’s new role involves ensuring all guests dining in Mr Fred’s thoroughly enjoy the experience, as well as training staff to Stanley House’s high standards.
Previously Simon was as operations manager at Farington Lodge Hotel in Leyland, where he oversaw all areas of the hotel’s management, including food and beverage, housekeeping and reception, along with training and health and safety requirements.
Simon said: “I was delighted to take up this exciting role at Stanley House because I can contribute industry knowledge, energy and enthusiasm. Also, working at a hotel of Stanley House’s stature will enable me to progress my career. There will be no shortage of opportunities to gain more experience at one of the best hotels in the area.”
Simon added: “I’m sure I will enjoy working with all the members of the team. They have made me feel really welcome – and it helps that my wife Clare works here too as reception manager.”

Aged 33, Simon comes from Bury and now lives in Walton Le Dale. He began his career in the hospitality industry when he was 17, working part-time while studying. He attended Bury Grammar School before gaining a BA honours degree in Hospitality Management at Salford University.
