App distribution company Crossrider strengthens B2C offering with $1m acquisition

Online distribution and digital product company Crossrider has paid $1m to acquire a core software product from PC software firm eSupport.com, as it looks to strengthen its B2C product hub offering.

The deal for the DriverAgent maintenance software will help to expand the London-based firm’s reach to a wider consumer market, and help build on its app distribution platform which currently includes a range of PC repair and driver tools.

According to an announcement to the stock exchange this morning, DriverAgent is a device driver search and update service for Windows which has been downloaded more than 50m times since 2006.

The software will sit on Crossrider’s ‘proprietary app distribution platform’ which, the firm says, has enjoyed 125% revenue growth since launch.

Ido Erlichman, Chief Executive Officer of Crossrider, commented: “This is a first bolt-on acquisition for Crossrider as we accelerate our growth into the online product and distribution space.

“Crossrider’s expertise is and has always been in driving and monetising online traffic, moreover as we announced in September, we believe it is by concentrating our expertise on developing and growing our app distribution hub that we will create the greatest value for shareholders.”
