Forbes’ Team Tackles Obstacle Course For Little Evie
Eighteen gallant volunteers sponsored by Forbes Solicitors completed one of the toughest obstacle courses around to raise money for a little girl with an as-yet incurable brain condition.
Evie was one when, in January 2014, she had a seizure and stopped breathing in the middle of the night at home.
She was subsequently diagnosed with a white matter brain condition called hypo-myelination, meaning messages and processing of information are distorted and she struggles with mobility and communication.
Leonie Millard, a Partner and Clinical Negligence / Personal Injury Solicitor, at Forbes’ Accrington office and 17 of her friends to took part in the Born Survivor ultimate military obstacle course challenge to raise money for her care and treatment.
This year’s Born Survivor Manchester event was held at Capesthorne Hall near the village of Siddington, Cheshire, and the Forbes team assisted towards raising the target of £5,000.
Evie and her family were on hand during the day to say thank you to fundraisers.
Leonie said: “It was a tough challenge for us all and one that took a lot of team work and determination to get through it…but it was nothing in comparison to the struggles Evie faces on a daily basis.
“We wanted to do our bit to help but also to raise awareness of brain injuries and conditions and ways in which people can help.”
