Stagecoach Apprentices in Merseyside and Preston Shine Bright

Two apprentices from Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire have been recognised for outstanding performance at a national awards ceremony.

Jack McCloughlin and Thomas Moorby both took two awards at the UK Bus Apprentice of the Year Awards at the Etihad Stadium Manchester.

Jack, a third year apprentice based at Stagecoach’s Liverpool depot, was voted best third year apprentice by the Gilmoss depot and was also recognised with a prize voted for by his peers.

Tom, a first year apprentice based at Stagecoach’s Preston depot, won third place in the National Apprentice of the Year category, and was voted best first year apprentice by the Preston depot.

Tony Cockcroft, Engineering Director at Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, who oversees the company’s apprenticeship programme, said: “Jack and Tom are great members of the Stagecoach team and we’re delighted to see their hard work and talent recognised with these awards. We look forward to seeing them both go on to have rewarding, highly successful careers within our business.

“I’m immensely proud of all our apprentices and these awards affirm the quality of young engineers we are developing. Our apprentice programme is a key part of the business and helps to ensure we’re nurturing and developing the next generation of highly skilled engineers.

“We only accept the very best candidates on to the programme and apprentices are able to benefit and learn from a core team of highly experienced, expert mentors and managers, who are dedicated to ensuring that our apprentices go from strength to strength.”
