Norwegian prepares for busiest ever winter at Manchester Airport
Scandinavian airline Norwegian is preparing for its busiest ever winter at Manchester Airport.
The company will kick off its packed winter schedule with the launch of flights from Manchester to Gran Canaria and Tenerife this week.
With Norwegian’s inaugural flight to Gran Canaria departing this Sunday (October 30), the company will operate a twice-weekly service to the island along with two flights per week to Tenerife from November 1.
The Gran Canaria route will operate throughout the winter, but services to Tenerife will be year-round.
The Canary Islands destinations are two of five routes launched at Manchester in 2016 by Norwegian, which already flies to Malaga, Alicante and Barcelona from the UK’s third-biggest airport.
Norwegian’s chief commercial officer, Thomas Ramdahl, said: “We’ve added five new routes from Manchester this year and our growth doesn’t stop with our new Canary Islands destinations.
“Holidaymakers will take-off to sunnier climates while enjoying free inflight Wi-Fi on our high quality flights this week.”
He added: “With hundreds of brand new aircraft on order, passengers will have more affordable choices with Norwegian as our Manchester growth is set to continue.”
