PKF Cooper Parry Fastest Growing Firm of Accountants
Midlands-based PKF Cooper Parry has just reported its strongest ever financial year. Figures show it is the fastest growing firm of accountants in the UK. And the team has big plans for the future.
In the financial year up to 30 June 2016, PKF Cooper Parry generated revenues of over £22m – a 29% increase in growth on the previous year’s turnover of £17.2m.
The team has set a £30m target for this financial year. And with current year to date performance up by 47%, the firm is set to meet this target and beyond.
PKF Cooper Parry is currently the No. 1 accountancy firm in the East Midlands amongst privately owned £5m to £50m businesses. It has more than twice the market share of any of its competitors.
Earlier this year the firm merged with Birmingham-based Clement Keys. The firm now has an office at East Midlands Airport and in Birmingham, with the aim of doubling its market share in the West Midlands in the next two years.
Over the past year, PKF Cooper Parry has also been credited with a number of awards, and in 2016 it was the only accountancy firm to make the Sunday Times List of 100 Best Small Companies to Work for.
The firm now has a 400 strong team of passionate and spirited people who all challenge the norm and lead what they do. Over the past 12 months, 110 new faces have joined the team. They continue to attract the best new people to push the business forward.
Other highlights include the creation of new IT and wealth teams in the West Midlands and the expansion of the corporate finance, IT solutions and tax propositions.
The firm has also launched a new internship scheme, with all eight of last year’s interns being offered full-time posts. Its Community Week has also been a big success, where over a 12-month period, 150 staff have volunteered more than 800 hours to local charities and good causes.
PKF Cooper Parry prides itself on its unique culture. The firm has created a working environment in which people can have fun doing their best work. It also offers flexible working, home working, 727 email curfew, unlimited holiday fully paid, annual fun days and a dress-down vibe in the office.
Through its community involvement and wellbeing programme, the firm encourages its employees to be in touch with their health and give back to their local communities.
This differentiates PKF Cooper Parry from its competitors and has enabled it to attract high profile clients and recruit the highest calibre of people.
Its growth has also contributed to the expansion of accountancy network PKF UK and Ireland (PFK UKI), made up of seven member firms. PKF recently announced a total fee income of £128.9m for the year ending 31 May 2016, a 52.8% increase on the previous year.
Commenting on the firm’s rapid growth, CEO Ade Cheatham said:
“What is really remarkable is the size and speed of our growth. Our headline figures are very impressive and represent growth across the board, but we have broadened our proposition in several key areas and introduced a number of new service lines, which have contributed to our success.
“The IT solutions team has doubled in size over the past 12 months and our wealth team has grown by more than 30% every year for the past three years.
“Our tax proposition was already strong, but has been strengthened with several key appointments, which has seen it grow by a massive 22% over the past 12 months.
“We play to our strengths and are working hard to create the right infrastructure. We have the right team around us, which will enable us achieve our long term aim of creating a £45m turnover firm within the next three years, reaching £150m within the next 10 years.”
