John Lewis boss to become Moneysupermarket CEO

Price comparison business Moneysupermarket.com Group PLC has announced the appointment of a new chief executive officer.

Subject to regulatory approval, Mark Lewis will succeed longstanding boss Peter Plumb, who earlier this year announced plans to stand down as CEO.

Mr Lewis will take over as chief exec on or before May 4 next year and join the Chester-headquartered firm’s board as an executive director. He is currently the retail director of John Lewis, having joined the department store chain in 2013 as online director.

In 2015, Mr Lewis was made responsible for running shop and online operations for the retailer.

Moneysupermarket chairman Bruce Carnegie-Brown said: “The board is pleased to appoint Mark Lewis as group CEO of Moneysupermarket.

“The board conducted a wide-ranging and thorough search for the role. Mark has a successful track record of leading fast growing digital businesses with strong customer satisfaction, trust and values.”

He added: “His experience and values are aligned with Moneysupermarket’s goal of helping our customers save money on their household bills.”

Mr Lewis commented: “I am delighted to be joining Moneysupermarket and look forward to building on the success of the business.

“In particular, I look forward to delivering on the clear mission to help a growing number of people save more money on their bills every year.”
