Couple upsize with Barratt Homes in Thurcroft

Having bought their first house, a three bedroom home, three years ago in Rotherham, Simon and Louise Burnett were keen to upsize to a larger family home in the same area, and after visiting Barratt Homes’ Hedgerows development in Thurcroft, seven miles away, they had their hearts set on the new community.

Simon, 33, a mortgage adviser, and Louise, 32, a primary school teacher, were sure that they wanted a Barratt Home when they started looking, citing the developer’s reputation as a 5* builder as the reason.

Using Help to Buy to assist them upsize, Simon and Louise moved in June 2016 after buying the four bedroom, detached Guisborough housetype off-plan, before the build was completed.

Speaking about choosing to purchase at The Hedgerows, Simon commented:

“After visiting The Hedgerows, we noticed how beautiful the street was and really loved the choice of four bedroom homes available. We were all but ready to complete on a home at the development when the buyer for our house fell through, meaning we had to put the move on hold. Catherine, the sales adviser at The Hedgerows, was so patient and really helped us when we were stressed, reassuring us constantly.”

Louise said:

“Catherine was very friendly and helpful, talking us through our options and keeping us updated with the progress of the house at every point. We would have never been able to afford a new build without Help to Buy and we’re so pleased that she suggested the Guisborough for us, as it really is a beautiful home - modern looking with large rooms, an open plan kitchen and no wasted floor space. Now we’ve moved in we’re very glad to have settled at The Hedgerows.”
